Every year the NZ Secondary Schools Rowing Assn holds a National Championship Regatta for secondary school rowing crews (known as Maadi™). At the regatta schools compete for the prestige of winning the Maadi Cup and the Levin 75th Jubilee Cup (the Under 18 Eights events*) and for the ultimate accolade, winning the Star Trophy and being the best rowing secondary school in New Zealand. In 2025, the event will be held at Lake Karapiro, Cambridge. Sunday 23 – Street Parade from Cambridge Primary School, 17 Wilson St, 12.30pm. Led by St Peter’s School, Cambridge, teams will march up the left hand side of Victoria St and will finish at Victoria Square for a welcome and the Best Banner awarded.
