End of private road near hilltop. Mighty River Domain Karapiro 10-12 minutes, Grassroots Trust Velodrome 15 minutes. Perfect location for Karapiro and velodrome competitions yet a quiet base to ‘get away from it all’. Central location between Rotorua, Waitomo Caves, Hobbiton, Sanctuary Mountain and Hamilton gardens – all within 20 to 60 minutes drive.
Complimentary full breakfast. Hospitality is in the genes. Wholesome (and quite tasty) home-cooked evening meals available by prior arrangement using home grown beef and garden produce when possible.
A spacious home with rammed earth walls and modern design. Guest bedrooms are at opposite end of house to host’s room. Guests enjoy their own modern designated bathroom with bath/shower/toilet, 1 other toilet and work space with fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. Attic room with king single bed plus bed-settee for child/small adult also available – or as a playroom for children. Wash basin in queen-bed room, also a double-bed room and king-single bed room with extra pop-up bed if needed. Underfloor heating and air conditioning. Additional King single & short bed-settee in attic (as above).
Rates start at $110/single, $170/couple and $80/additional adult in the same group. Special rates for families with dependent children.
Couples, groups up to 8 (includes the attic). Not suitable for toddlers but babies not yet crawling welcome. Normally one couple, group or family at a time for improved experience. When accommodation demand is high during special events, more than one ‘group’ may stay by pre-approved arrangement.
Animals include my young working dog Lark, cattle, and hens which provide the fresh free-range eggs served with breakfast. Native forest and birds are thriving due to pest control and healthy habitat. Glow worms can be seen at night in the bush.
