The Cambridge Town Hall (Victoria St, Cambridge) hosts a wide range of functions including civic receptions, weddings, exhibitions and shows. In 2011 it was even used as the set for filming scenes in a movie. The main hall in the 1909 Edwardian building caters for up to about 30 tables, seating up to 200 people. For stage performances, with no need for tables, the venue can seat up to 350. Two side rooms are available for separate hire and a bar area can be easily utilised.
There's plenty of free parking in streets around the hall and Cambridge's cafes and shops are just a few minutes' walk away.

Sarnia Park (51 Maungatautari Road, Cambridge) has a 200-seat function centre in 3.2 hectares of grounds that include a man-made lake, an English garden, a croquet lawn, rose gardens and an Awanui cherry blossom lawn. Suitable for weddings and conferences, the venue has its own 100-year-old chapel that seats 70. Sarnia Park is only 5km and 9 minutes' drive from central Cambridge.
No1 Motels (Victoria St, Cambridge) can host small weddings, conferences and seminars in their 35-seat Conference Room, next to 28 accommodation rooms.
The Riverside Motor Lodge & Conference Centre (7 Williamson St, Cambridge) caters for weddings and conferences with a function centre that seats up to 160 guests in its main hall and up to 50 in its secondary room. It provides a fully licensed restaurant and bar as well as accommodation.

Mellow Manor (State Highway One, Tamahere) is 12km and 10 minutes' drive from Cambridge and caters for weddings and private functions of up to 150 guests. The Victorian manor was built in 1900 and is filled with antiques with open fires in each room. The manor is set in gardens where resident white doves fly.
The world-class Don Rowlands Centre sits in the Mighty River Domain beside Lake Karapiro. The $4.9 million centre, which opened in 2010, is 1,400m2 and holds up to 1,000 people. The centre has a number of multi-purpose rooms and full kitchen facilities. Local iwi have funded a large cultural room within the centre. The centre is often used for non-sporting events too, such as the annual Waipa District Excellence in Business Awards and conferences.
The domain offers camping facilities as well as cabins and lodges. These are excellent options for those attending events at the lake or using the Don Rowlands Centre. The site has 60 powered and 80 non-powered sites which can be hired individually or in blocks. The camping ground has two amenity blocks with toilets and showers, a kitchen with two ovens, laundry and a dump station.
Epworth Camp sits beside the lake, near Horahora, and specialises in hosting youth groups with indoor accommodation for 160 guests and facilities for 50 more to camp on its four hectares of grounds, a fifth of which is waterfront. The camp, owned and operated by the Methodist Church for more than 60 years, has a large swimming pool, a gymnasium, a water slide and a flying fox to keep youngsters entertained.
The 113-hectare Mystery Creek Events Centre is one of New Zealand's largest venues for exhibitions, festivals and shows catering for up to 25,000 visitors a day. It is best-known as the venue for the annual National Agricultural Fieldays which is the largest event of its kind in the southern hemisphere, attracting more than 120,000 visitors. The venue has a main Convention Centre with adjoining suites.
